Our thoughts on PVC (Vinyl) |
The issue of PVC
and how it effects the environment became evident to us after
researching the Internet as well as interviewing a few chemists.
As we have sold and continue to sell PVC flooring Floortec feels that,
when specifying PVC for commercial use, you should be aware of some of
it's downside.

What we have
found is that PVC is a wonderful flooring product that is contributing
to the decline of the environment and in some cases, poisoning
people. Because of it's low cost and high performance it will
continue to be used until it is regulated or litigated out of the
marketplace. (like asbestos)
Unfortunately, PVC is the ideal floor for moisture intensive / body
fluid areas like Health Care and Extended Care. There are
convincing arguments for both sides of the PVC issue. Our position
is, after seeing the alternatives, if you still want PVC
(Vinyl) then the we will sell it to you.
Please remember, this is only my opinion. Thank
God we live in a country where we can still express it! |
